Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G SoC launched today.

Qualcomm launched Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset as the successor of the Snapdragon 778G+ SoC earlier this year. It was thought that the Snapdragon 7xx series case would be closed for the future, however, Qualcomm surprisingly launches Snapdragon 782G chipset as a replacement for the Snapdragon 778+. Here are all the details of the new chipset.

Snapdragon 782G specifications and features

Similar to the SD778G+, the Snapdragon 782G is a 6nm chipset with an Adreno 642L GPU and an 8-core Kryo 670 processor. The core arrangement of the CPU is identical to that of the 778G+: one Cortex-A78 Kryo 670 Prime core, which operates at 2.7GHz up to 200 MHz faster; three Cortex-A78 Kryo 670 Gold cores that operate at up to 2.2 GHz; and four Cortex-A55 Kryo 670 Silver cores that run at 1.9GHz.

Qualcomm has stated these clock upgrades make the Snapdragon 782G CPU 5% faster, and the GPU 10% faster than the previous Snapdragon 778G+. As it was in the previous chipset, Snapdragon 782 supports up to 200-megapixel resolution for the optics. Moreover, Quick Charge 4+ feature is also equipped in the new chipset.
