PlayStation 5 allegedly at risk of liquid metal leakage, leading to potential failure
There have been increased worries about the potential for liquid metal leakage leading malfunction in PS5 consoles that are placed in a vertical position.
The Sony PlayStation 5 and the Microsoft Xbox Series X and Series S are the newest gaming consoles available in the market, they can be placed either vertically or horizontally. Nevertheless, there are concerns that positioning the console in vertical way may cause the PlayStation 5 to malfunction entirely as a new report complains about "liquid metal" leakage which possibly occurred due to that positioning.
Placing PS5 vertically might lead to severe problems
A tweet claims that the PlayStation 5 console may be at risk of permanent internal damage if it is placed vertically. The reason for this is that the liquid metal used for cooling the GPU may leak out due to that positioning. This liquid metal is also reported to lead to a potential failure of damage to the motherboard.
The Twitter user, @68logic, who runs his own hardware repair shop reported this issue. The problem most likely arises from a loose seal between the APU (hosting both GPU and CPU) and the heatsink. The liquid metal leaks out as a result, which can be extremely harmful to the gaming console.

YouTuber TheCod3r confirmed the liquid metal spillage in one of his videos, which was another report that confirmed this issue. At this time, Sony has not yet made a statement for the leaking problem in this liquid metal cooling system.
