NVIDIA is being sued over 16-pin connector melting crisis, official statement released

As the discussions about the melting issue of the RTX 4090's 16-pin connector continue to blaze, the first legal action has been taken against NVIDIA. A consumer named Lucas Genova has filed a class-action lawsuit against NVIDIA in California federal court.

Genova stated he bought the GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card for $1,600 and mounted it in his computer, following the instructions carefully. After a while, the 12+4 pin 12VHPWR power connector of the NVIDIA RTX 4090 melted unfortunately. 

The claimant states that he has experience in assembly, but despite this, the power connector melted. Genova has accused NVIDIA of unjust enrichment, breach of warranty, fraud and violation of the New York State General Commercial Code.

Genova stated that the company not only marketed the graphics card with a "defective and dangerous" power connector, but continued to sell it despite the complaints from all consumers. Genova emphasizes that this problem causes the video card to become inoperable and also poses a risk of fire or more serious consequences. 

NVIDIA accused NVIDIA RTX 4090 users for "plugging incorrectly" in an official statement

Following this news, NVIDIA made an official statement today about the melting of the power connectors for the RTX 4090. The company claimed that around 50 people worldwide have experienced this problem and it was caused by users plugging in the cables incorrectly or not plugging "completely".

Stating that there was no problem in the connector design, the company announced that the cable melting problem was caused by the users.
