MediaTek Dimensity 9200 unveiled, flagship chipset debuts outstanding upgrades
Chip giant MediaTek has unveiled its new flagship chipset called Dimensity 9200. New chipset offers "ultimate performance with significant power savings" and more.
Chip giant MediaTek unveiled the most anticipated chipset of recent times. Launched under the name of MediaTek Dimensity 9200, the flagship chipset offers extraordinary upgrades compared to previous chipsets. Moreover, this flagship chipset will be the Snapdragon's biggest rival.
MediaTek Dimensity 9200 specifications
The Dimensity 9200 is first chip to utilize the second-generation ARM V9 architecture, brand-new LPDDR5X RAM, and feature UFS 4.0 and MCQ storage system. It was constructed using the most recent second-generation 4nm process.
The chipset uses a single ARM Cortex X3 running at 3.05GHz, three 2.85GHz Cortex A715 cores, and four 1.8GHz Cortex A510 cores for great efficiency. Moreover, Dimensity 9200 uses ARM's 11-core Immortalis G715 GPU, supporting ray tracing.
This new graphics processor promises %32 performance increase compared to the Dimensity 9000's graphics processor. Moreover, reports state that the Dimensity 9200's single-core performance on Geekbench 5.0 is %12 better compared to previous Dimensity 9000.
However, in multi-core tests, the gap between their performance is %10, in favour of Dimensity 9200. Under the load, Dimensity 9200 uses 25% less power compared to previous flagship chipset. There is also increase in better heat dissipation capabilities.
Overall, MediaTek claims that the Dimensity 9200 scores 1,260,000 points in AnTuTu v9 tests, significantly more than any other flagship device currently available. At this time, MediaTek has only stated that the Dimensity 9200 will be available in the smartphones in the end of this year.
