Global tablet shipments plunged in Q3 2022, results disappointing

The tablet market has been doing well lately. High sales rates made vendors happier than ever. Companies had great success with their new flagships in previous quarters. However, Q3 2022 affected the tablet market as it did to every other market of the technology. Sources indicate that global tablet shipments declined 8.8% due to global inflation and economic stagnation.
Global tablet shipments declined 8.8% YoY in Q3 2022 as new IDC report shows
In the third quarter of 2022, tablet shipments worldwide declined 8.8%. Vendors shipped 38.6 million units between July and September, compared to 42.4 million units during the same time last year, according to International Data Corporation (IDC).
This quarter's total shipments have also decreased, from 40.4 million in Q2,2022. Chromebooks have also experienced negative growth, with shipments declining 34.4% year-on-year basis and to 4.3 million units in the previous quarter.
As to tablet category, despite a year-over-year decrease of 1.1% to 14.5 million units, Apple maintained to reign global tablet market with a 37.5% market share. With 7.1 million units shipped, Samsung came in second with an 18.4% market share. Amazon's Kindle took third place by shipping 4.3 million units and had 11.1% market share. With shipments of 2.7 million units down 36.6% year-over-year, Lenovo fell to fourth place. With 2.4 million shipments, Huawei made it to the top five.
There are great losses in the tablet market because consumers has been less inclined to technological products recently due to worldwide inflation. This problem is considered to continue to affect every market of the technology.
