Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro set for global launch

Xiaomi is making significant strides in the tablet market with its upcoming Pad 7 series, aiming to enhance its presence in the Chinese market and beyond. Following the release of the Xiaomi Pad 6, Pad 6 Pro, and Pad 6 Max earlier this year, the company is now focusing on its Pad 7 series. While the standard model of the Pad 6 series was launched globally, the Pro and Max variants remained exclusive to China. However, recent developments indicate a change in strategy, as reports suggest that the Pad 7 Pro, along with the standard model, may also be released in global markets.

A report by GSMChina has brought attention to the internal HyperOS build for the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, marking its first sighting. The presence of a global build of HyperOS hints at the possibility of the Pad 7 Pro being released worldwide. Details about the specifications of the device are yet to be disclosed.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, while the Pad 7 Pro is expected to feature the more advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The Pad 7 Pro is also rumored to boast an LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. As for the camera setup, the rear panel of the Pad 7 Pro might include a 50-megapixel dual-camera system. While there is no specific information on the battery size, it is anticipated to support 67W fast charging. The tablet is also expected to cater to audiophiles with its quad-speaker setup and to run on HyperOS 14 based on Android 14.

Xiaomi is planning a launch event in April 2024, where it is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro tablets are also anticipated to make their debut at this event, marking a significant expansion in Xiaomi's tablet offerings.
