The OnePlus Pad went through a durability test, and the results are unbelievable!

In February 2023, OnePlus took a significant leap into the tablet market by introducing its first Android tablet – the OnePlus Pad. In a recent durability review by JerryRigEverything, a YouTube channel famous for their rigorous durability tests on mobile devices, the OnePlus Pad was put to the examination. Impressively, the tablet proved resilient against scratches, bend, and heat exposure.

The durability test sequence commenced with OnePlus' Stylo, a stylus with standard features like copper coils for wireless charging and an actual battery. After the stylo's inspection, the focus shifted to the OnePlus Pad, undergoing the routine scratch test. As per the results, the tablet began to exhibit scratches at level 6, with the scratches getting more profound at level 7.

This outcome, although standard, highlights the limitations of current technology. A screen protected with sapphire instead of glass could possibly endure more, but presently, this is the peak durability that can be achieved with glass screens.

The OnePlus Pad successfully endured the heat test, but the bend test was where it truly showcased its robustness. In the world of tablets and smartphones, larger dimensions do not necessarily equate to structural strength. In previous examinations, it has been observed that screens often succumb to pressure, leading to cracks, and the frames can buckle under stress.

This was particularly noticeable in certain tested iPad models. However, the OnePlus Pad took a different path. Crafted from a sturdier material, it exhibits higher resistance to bending. JerryRigEverything put the tablet through an intense bend test, and the OnePlus Pad passed with distinction.
