Samsung recently unveiled its latest generation of Galaxy tablets – the Galaxy Tab S9 series. This lineup, which succeeds the previous year's Tab S8 models, includes standard, plus, and ultra variants. This analysis focuses on the standard and plus versions, namely Galaxy Tab S9 and S9+.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and S9+ come with a dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The standard S9 has an 11-inch WQXGA resolution, whereas the S9+ sports a slightly larger 12.4-inch WQXGA+ panel. Both these models also support a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-screen optical fingerprint scanner, and are compatible with the S-Pen.

These tablets stand out for their design, featuring minimal bezels on the front and dual protruding camera sensors on the back. An interesting addition is a vertical strip at the back where the stylus can be magnetically attached. Worth mentioning is that the Galaxy Tab S9 series is the first of its kind to carry an IP68 dust and water-resistant rating.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 has a single 13MP rear sensor, whereas the S9+ boasts dual sensors of 13MP and 8MP. Both versions are equipped with a 12MP front-facing camera. Additionally, for a high-quality sound experience, these tablets come with quad speakers tuned by AKG and Dolby Atmos.

Underneath their sleek exterior, both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and S9+ run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. While the Tab S9 is powered by an 8,000mAh battery, the plus version houses a larger 10,090mAh battery cell.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and S9+ start at $799 / EUR 799 and $1,149 / EUR 999 respectively for their base models. Both models are already available for pre-order and will start shipping from August 11. The tablets come in two color options: Beige and Graphite.
