OnePlus Pad Go early insights surface online
According to a report by Android Authority, insider tipster @1NormalUsername unveiled the existence of a OnePlus tablet bearing the model number OPD2304. The tipster initially shared this intriguing piece of news on the OnePlus forums, although the post mysteriously disappeared shortly thereafter. Adding more weight to the tablet's existence is its appearance in the database of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
The BIS listing not only reaffirms the tablet's existence but also hints at the possibility of its release in India. Notably, the OP2304 and OP2305 model numbers seem to represent two different variants, potentially indicating Wi-Fi and cellular versions of the device.
On a related note, China's 3C certification recently greenlit an Oppo tablet with the model number OP2301 in July. This tablet is speculated to be the Oppo Pad Air 2, set to debut alongside the Find N3 this month in China. Interestingly, there's speculation that the OnePlus Pad Go could be the global version of the Pad Air 2, possibly remaining exclusive to the Chinese market.
Currently, detailed specifications of the OnePlus Pad Go remain under wraps. However, the name suggests it might be positioned as a less powerful alternative to the Dimensity 9000-powered OnePlus Pad. It's worth noting that the latter boasts an impressive lineup, including an 11.61-inch IPS LCD with a 2K resolution and a silky-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, a robust Dimensity 9000 chipset, up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a capacious 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, a substantial 9,510mAh battery with blazing-fast 67W fast charging, a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, all running on the OxygenOS 13.1-based Android 13. So, it will be intriguing to see how the OnePlus Pad Go positions itself in this exciting tablet landscape.
