Xiaomi dominates the Indian smart TV market
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has proven its success in the TV Market.
When compared to the same time last year, the smart TV market in India experienced significant growth in the third quarter of this year. During this period, Xiaomi started to lead the pack in the market while different brands considered development to be well. Let's take a look now.
Xiaomi dominates the Indian smart TV market
A report from Counterpoint Research says that the Chinese tech giant has a sizable 11 percent market share of the smart TV market in Q3 2022.The company made a lot of money, especially because its products had 4K displays and Dolby Audio & Vision options. Additionally, the PatchWall software offered more than 300 live channels, which contributed to the strong sales of models like the Xiaomi Mi 4A Horizon Edition, 5A series, and even the Redmi Smart TV series during this time.
In general, this quarter saw a significant increase of 38% YoY for the Indian smart TV market.
With a 40% market share, global brands had dominated the market, followed by Chinese brands with a 38% market share. Last but not least, Indian brands shipped 22% of all goods in the region in Q3 2022, more than doubling their share in this category."OnePlus, Vu, and TCL were the fastest growing brands in the smart TV segment in Q3 2022," says Senior Research Analyst Anshika Jain.Samsung was followed by Xiaomi, which held a 11% share of the overall smart TV market.Due to the introduction of new models, especially those priced between $250 and $400 (INR 20,000–INR 30,000), LG once more took third place.Sony, Haier, and other new brands made the top 10, too."
