WhatsApp lost a lot of users last year for security reasons. Concentrating on concepts such as security and privacy in this context, the company also aims to remain at the forefront by offering innovations. It is now accounced that Beta users can now link their WhatsApp accounts to a second phone and an Android tablet. The companion mode in the most recent Android beta of WhatsApp, version 2.22.24.18, lets you link a second phone to your primary account. You can connect up to four Android phones to your primary WhatsApp account, and you can use all of the standard WhatsApp features and encrypt messages.

In order to do so, users need to go to the registration screen, from there go to the options menu and select "Link a device" from the drop-down menu to enable companion mode. This feature will also be avaiable in the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android. The linked devices beta option in the devices section of the settings menu is where you'll find this feature, which is currently only available to some beta testers. Scan a QR code to complete the straightforward pairing process. With the upcoming updates, WhatsApp intends to make the new tablet companion and link features available to a larger number of users.
