Tech giant Sony has announcted that they break the record with their PS5 console sellings. Here is all we know about the subject.
Recently Sony released its most recent earnings report. Looks like the company has been having some good time with their sales of PS5 consoles. The Japanese tech giant announced in official documents that it sold approximately 3.3 million PlayStation 5 consoles in this quarter alone. The PS5 has been sold more than 25 million times as a result of this. By the end of the fiscal year 2022, the company also predicted that it would have sold 18 million PS5s.

However, the brand has only sold about 5.7 million units halfway through the fiscal year, far below its sales target at this point. However, despite Sony's lack of significant increase in unit sales over the previous year, sales-related revenue increased by 12%. This was partly because of the price increase earlier this year. Inflation and increases in chip costs affected all companies, and Sony was among the names that increased their products.
However, the company's recent acquisition of Bungie, the well-known game development studio behind the original Halo trilogy, resulted in a significant reduction in profits of 49%.
Since Sony only sold about 11.5 PS5 game consoles last year, we can anticipate higher sales in 2022 than in the previous year.
