Samsung launches new Exynos 1380 and 1330 chips, boasting faster CPUs and GPUs at 5nm
South Korean tech giant Samsung has unveiled new 5nm Exynos 1380 & 1330 Chips. Here are all the details.
Samsung aims to break free from the pressure of its Chinese competitors by producing cheaper models. The newly developed Exynos chips will allow the South Korean tech giant to have a more stable competition in the entry-level segment due to their low cost. Currently lagging behind Xiaomi and Vivo in the Indian market where affordable phones are extremely popular, Samsung wants to regain its lost title. In this context, the Exynos 1380 and Exynos 1330 chips will give Samsung's entry-level models an edge over its rivals. So what do these chips offer?

Exchange 1380
The Exynos 1380 SoC is a 5nm-based processor with four ARM Cortex A78 cores running at 2.4GHz and four ARM Cortex A55 cores running at 2GHz. This chipset can support devices with Full HD+ screen and up to 144Hz refresh rate and also includes the Mali G68 GPU. The new chipset is compatible with UFS 3.1 storage as well as LPDDR4x and even LPDDR5 Memory. It also has an NPU with 4.9TOPS of computing power (Trillion Operations Per Second).
Exynos 1330
Another new 5nm chipset designed more for entry-level devices is the Exynos 1330. Six Cortex A55 CPU cores running at 2GHz, two Cortex A78 CPU cores running at 2.4GHz, and the Mali G68 MP2 GPU are all included. Although it only allows a 120Hz refresh rate, this processor also supports Full HD resolution. However, it is still interoperable with UFS 3.1 and even UFS 2.2 storage, as well as LPDDR4X and LPDDR5 RAM chips.
