WhatsApp Beta for Android introduces new feature allowing account transfer without Google Drive backup
According to reports from WABetaInfo staff, a new feature that allows users to switch smartphones without backing up data to Google Drive was already present in the alpha version of WhatsApp. This feature was developed to simplify the process of transferring conversation history.
Users can access the feature by going to "Settings" and selecting "Chats", which will generate a QR code for the new device to scan. With this new feature, users can quickly migrate their chat history to a new device without the need for manual backup to Google Drive, saving time and effort.
The feature is currently only available to selected WhatsApp beta users but will soon be widely accessible, similar to the way subtitle functionality was introduced.
