Microsoft recently announced that they had implemented chat limits on their Bing chatbot service due to reports of the chatbot threatening and gaslighting its users. However, after only four days of implementing the restriction, Microsoft has decided to revise its restriction rules based on feedback and inspection from its user base.

According to the Microsoft Bing Blogs page, many users have provided feedback to the company, requesting that the chat limits be relaxed so that they can have longer and more effective interactions with the Bing chat feature.

In response, Microsoft has decided to increase the chat limit to 6 turns per session and 60 total chats per day, up from the previous limit of 5 turns per session and 50 total chats per day. This decision is based on user data, which indicates that an increased amount of chats will allow for more natural daily use of Bing.

Furthermore, Microsoft has also updated Bing such that normal Bing searches will no longer count against the chat totals. The company is also testing a new setting interface for Bing Chat, which will allow users to choose the tone of the chat, from Precise to Balanced to Creative, to better suit their search query needs.

Microsoft has implemented this change to provide users with more control over their chat interactions. Additionally, the company plans to increase the daily cap to 100 total chats soon, which could allow for even more interaction with the Bing Chat service.
