In his keynote speech, Huawei Chairman Liang Hua emphasized that stable network access is a fundamental requirement in the digital age. Hua continued: “This project will enable many people to add value to their lives with reliable network access. The connectivity support to be provided with digital technologies such as cloud computing and artificial intelligence will help everyone to benefit from the opportunities of the digital world. Thus, it will be possible for more people around the world to have more information and new job opportunities, which will encourage social and economic development.”

Malcolm Johnson, Deputy Secretary General of ITU, said in the opening speech of the forum; “It is clear that simply offering connectivity is not enough. Network access should be available at affordable prices and with local language support. We thank Huawei for its support of rural network access through its Partner2Connect (P2C) digital partnership.” United Nations China Coordinator Siddharth Chatterjee made the following statements in his speech; “To make the digitalization process, which does not adequately cover one third of the global population, more widespread all over the world; public institutions, private sector representatives, academic institutions and non-governmental organizations should work together. We must work together and take advantage of technology to create new business opportunities, ensure financial stability, promote green transformation and increase the prosperity of our world.”

With its RuralStar series solutions that provide broadband network access in rural areas, Huawei has already provided network access to more than 60 million people in more than 70 countries. For example, in Africa, with more than 250 thousand kilometers of optical fiber installed, 30 million households have access to high-speed broadband internet.
