Here's how you will make money on Reddit
To earn money on Reddit, users can participate in the Contributor Program.
Reddit, a platform boasting more than 50 million daily active users, has introduced its Contributor Program in the United States, offering users, including moderators, the opportunity to earn real money based on their content and contributions. Monthly payouts are determined by the karma and gold received by individual users.
Here's how you will make money on Reddit
Here's a breakdown of how the program operates: Users can initiate their participation by selecting "Get Verified to Start Earning" from their Reddit profiles. There are two earning categories within the program. "Standard contributors" earn 90 cents per gold, while "top contributors" receive $1 per gold. To qualify as a standard contributor, users must accumulate at least 10 gold and maintain a karma score ranging from 100 to 4,999 over the past year. For top contributors, the requirement is 10 gold and a karma score exceeding 5,000.
Additionally, Reddit has revamped its gold system, allowing users to long-press the upvote icon and choose from six different gold award options, starting at $1.99 for one gold and reaching up to $49.00 for 25 gold.
This strategic move by Reddit aligns it with other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, which employ similar monetization approaches for users. However, this new system may incentivize users to focus more on creating content that garners gold and karma, potentially impacting the quality of discussions on the platform. With the introduction of this program, Reddit is redefining the landscape of social media engagement and monetization.
