To qualify as a standard contributor, users must accumulate at least 10 gold and maintain a karma score ranging from 100 to 4,999 over the past year. For top contributors, the requirement is 10 gold and a karma score exceeding 5,000.

Additionally, Reddit has revamped its gold system, allowing users to long-press the upvote icon and choose from six different gold award options, starting at $1.99 for one gold and reaching up to $49.00 for 25 gold.
