Today, Google has unveiled a set of new features that take the app to the next level, elevating the user experience and further solidifying its position as a leading mobile payment solution. These exciting additions represent a significant leap forward, empowering users with enhanced functionality and an even more seamless and enjoyable digital wallet experience. Let's dive into the details of these latest updates and discover how they are set to supercharge Google Wallet for everyone.
Google Wallet update brings five new features for enhanced convenience
Google has introduced several new updates to Google Wallet, aimed at providing users with more convenience and functionality. One notable update allows users to save passes from an image, eliminating the need to carry physical copies. This feature supports various passes, including QR tickets, parking passes, and e-commerce return QR codes.
Additionally, Google has collaborated with Humana to enable the storage of health insurance cards and other private passes in the app, ensuring easy access to insurance information. In the U.K., users will have the option to save their National Insurance Number using the HMRC app. To prioritize privacy, Google has implemented a "private pass" label for these sensitive passes and requires user verification for adding, viewing, and using them within the Google App.
Furthermore, Google is working on allowing users to add their ID or driver's license to Google Wallet, starting with Maryland and expanding to other states in the near future.
There are upcoming features for Google Wallet as well
Google has announced upcoming features for Google Wallet, including the ability to use your ID for car bookings and online account verification through the app. Users will also be able to complete travel check-ins via Google Messages, with boarding passes and train tickets accessible within the app. The feature will initially roll out for Vietnam Airlines and Renfe.
Additionally, restaurant reservations can be sent directly to Wallet, and a new corporate badge feature will enable building access for employees. Users in Germany can save the Deutschlandticket purchased from select transit agencies to their Wallet for convenient usage.
