Google made a significant change in its popular app
The US tech giant Google updated its popular camera app with a major change.
Google's recent decision to rename its camera app from “Google Camera” to “Pixel Camera” in the Play Store underscores the app's exclusivity for Pixel devices, a distinction that has been evident for several years.
With the change in moniker comes a fresh user interface and a slew of innovative features, marking an evolution in its software capabilities. Noteworthy among these are the Portrait, Night Sight, Time Lapse, and Cinematic Blur. However, it's crucial to point out that these enhancements will be accessible solely on Pixel devices equipped with Android 14 or later.

Delving deeper into compatibility, the Pixel Camera app is now tailored to support Wear OS 3 and subsequent versions. When these devices are tethered to Pixel phones, it grants users the liberty to remotely manage the camera using their smartwatch, thereby offering increased flexibility.
Attention should also be directed to the app's latest iteration. Version 9.0 has been rolled out explicitly for the Pixel Fold, Tablet, and 7 Pro, while the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro have been graced with version 9.1, which is poised to receive an imminent patch update. Google’s Play Store listing for the app also hints at unique functionalities designed for the Pixel 8 Pro, including the 50MP High Res and Pro Controls.
It's worth reminiscing that the inception of the Pixel Camera brand can be traced back to Google's announcement at I/O 2023. During this event, they unveiled a plethora of Pixel-centric apps and services. Among them were Pixel Call Assist, Pixel Speech, and Pixel Safe, each meticulously crafted to elevate the overall user experience for Pixel enthusiasts.
