Google backed up! The feature was reintroduced after the backlash
Google has announced the other day that they will put some limit for Google Drive users, but it looks like the limit is gone now.
The file creation restriction that Google discreetly imposed for Drive over the past few weeks has now been lifted. The Google Drive account announced on Twitter that it is reversing a "system update to... item limits" that was made to "preserve stability and optimize performance." The tech giant claimed that only a small number of users were ever affected, but it is now looking into alternative strategies to guarantee consistent service for everyone.
We recently rolled out a system update to Drive item limits to preserve stability and optimize performance. While this impacted only a small number of people, we are rolling back this change as we explore alternate approaches to ensure a great experience for all.

Since February, a number of Drive users have run into errors indicating that their upload had failed and that they were unable to create more than 5 million things. To "prevent misuse of [its] system in a way that might impact [its] stability and safety," Google implemented a 5 million file creation limit, a Google spokesperson recently confirmed to Ars Technica.
