Gmail announces a significant update is on the way
One of the biggest names in the tech world, Google, shared exciting news about a major update for its popular email service, Gmail.
Google is enhancing the user experience in its Gmail mobile app by integrating a native translation feature, which was formerly an exclusive aspect of the web version. This update is available for both Android and iOS devices. Google mentioned in their statement, “Over the years, many have counted on Gmail’s translation capabilities to interact with global contacts. With this fresh update, we're further simplifying cross-language connections.”
The innovative Gmail translation functionality auto-detects the language of incoming emails. If the detected language differs from the user's set preference, a notification appears atop the email, offering translation. To illustrate, if one receives an email in Korean while their default language is English, they'll be prompted with a "Translate to English" option. Users can then tap this prompt to view the translated email.

Moreover, if users prefer not to see the translation, they can dismiss the prompt or even choose to cease translations from that specific language entirely. Additionally, within the settings, users can tailor their translation preferences by indicating which languages they'd always or never want translated.
Should there be instances where the translation prompt doesn't appear, users still have the flexibility to manually invoke the translation. This can be done by tapping the three-dot menu on the top-right corner of the email and selecting "Translate". Impressively, Gmail’s mobile app supports translations across a vast array of 100 languages.
