Apple to begin mass production of its mixed reality headset!
Apple's mixed reality headset has been on agenda for a while now and it looks like the mass production will soon start.
According to the most recent DigiTimes report, the long waited Apple mixed reality (XR) headset will enter mass production by March 2023. Thee has been so many rumors centering around the headset for while now and it looks like the production will start soon. It is anticipated that Pegatron, a contract manufacturer based in China, will be the device's primary supplier. Due to the extremely limited initial supply, it is anticipated that Apple will introduce its XR headset during an event in April 2023.
Apple to begin mass production of its mixed reality headset!
The report says that the first year's supply of XR headsets will be between 700,000 and 800,000, which is less than the 2.5 million units that had been expected. Although Pegatron and others will fulfill these orders so that they can be better positioned for subsequent AR/VR products, the lower supply values won't make the XR headset very profitable for suppliers. The Reality One name, which is thought to be related to Apple's MX headset project, is already a trademark. Pre-orders would begin in the second quarter of 2023, according to previous reports, and open sales would begin around WWDC in June.
