Android 13 user count revealed: Android stands no chance against iOS! A recent report has highlighted that an impressive 81% of all active iPhone models are operating on iOS 16. This level of integration can be attributed to Apple's unique model of producing both the hardware and software for its devices. In contrast, Google's approach, where numerous manufacturers utilize its Android software, has resulted in a less uniform distribution. As of May 30th, only 14.7% of Android devices were reported to be running on the most recent version, Android 13. This is a slight increase from the 12.1% reported in April.

Currently, the Android version most frequently in use is Android 11, which accounts for 23.1% of all devices. This 2020 build is followed by 2019's Android 10, present on 17.8% of devices. Android 12, launched in 2021, occupies third place at 16.3%, while last year's Android 13 lags behind.

Notably, some of the dessert-themed Android names, representing older versions of the software, are still prevalent. For example, Android Pie (Android 9 from 2018) is installed on 11.9% of devices. Similarly, Android Oreo (Android 8 from 2017) features on 8.3% of devices, while Nougat (Android 7 from 2016) and Marshmallow (Android 6 from 2015) account for 3% and 2.3% respectively. Surprisingly, 1.8% of active Android devices are still using 2014's Lollipop (Android 5), with a minor 0.5% operating on 2013's KitKat (Android 4.4).

There have been some notable shifts in these figures since the last report in April. While an increase in the adoption of Android 13 was anticipated, other versions, such as Android 12, 11, and 10, saw declines. Interestingly, the only version aside from Android 13 that demonstrated growth was Android 8 Oreo. From April to June, this version jumped from 6.7% to 8.3% of Android devices, a curious increase of 24%. Android 13 user count revealed: Android stands no chance against iOS!
