Twitter will grant free access to its API to bots with "good content"
Twitter has been going under so many changes. The company has now will offer free access to its API to bots with "good content".
Elon Musk made the announcement via Twitter that the platform will grant free access to its API to bots with "good content." Tesla CEO has bought Twitter some time ago and things started to change ever since. Twitter's policy, which previously required developers to sign up for a paid tier in order to access the API, has been partially reversed by this. The move comes after Twitter shut down third-party clients like Tweetbot and Twitterrific and decided to put API access behind a paywall. Elon had previously stated that the company would charge around $100 per month for bots to operate on Twitter. This was intended to move the social media platform toward only having "clean bots."

Developers and Twitter users who use bots for a variety of purposes criticized the change. Some bots, like "Make it a Quote," just turn tweets into images with quotes on them. Others, like "Color Schemer," suggest colors that go well together.
