Twitter gets a new update! Two checkmarks are on the way
There will be two checkmarks in Twitter's updated verification system, one of which cannot be purchased. Here all the details.
It turns out that Twitter's new verification strategy will have two levels .Esther Crawford, the Twitter vice president in charge of the updated Twitter Blue subscription, confirmed that the company will use a distinct "official" label for "select" accounts in addition to the blue checkmarks.

A lot of folks have asked about how you'll be able to distinguish between @TwitterBlue subscribers with blue checkmarks and accounts that are verified as official, which is why we’re introducing the “Official" label to select accounts when we launch. pic.twitter.com/0p2Ae5nWpO

Not all previously verified accounts will get the “Official” label and the label is not available for purchase. Accounts that will receive it include government accounts, commercial companies, business partners, major media outlets, publishers and some public figures.

The "Official" label is not available for purchase, and not all previously verified accounts will receive it," Crawford tweeted. The strategy appears to be designed to address some of Musk's criticisms regarding Twitter Blue and verification.
For years, Verification on Twitter has been tricky because it’s a signal both of authenticity (you are who you say you are) and notability (you’re “important” by some standard).

Notability is inherently difficult to determine in a fair way globally. I support getting rid of it.
