Meta claims that some employees stole some Facebook and Instagram accounts. It would appear that Meta is taking action against employees who misuse their access to the back end.

According to sources quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Meta has reportedly disciplined or fired more than two dozen employees for stealing Facebook and Instagram accounts over the course of the past year. In addition, the Journal has conducted interviews with businesses that claim to charge social media users for access to insiders who are willing to retrieve accounts in violation of company policy. Meta has been contacted for comment. Andy Stone, a spokesperson for the company, stated in a statement that the organization would continue to take "appropriate action" against anyone selling dishonest services. According to Allied Universal, it always responds "seriously" to reports of conduct violations.
