Meta announced new features designed for content creators at the Creator Week event in London.
Meta announced new features designed for content producers at the Creator Week event. Among the innovations announced at the event are the expansion of the NFT sharing feature on Instagram to cover Europe, and new ways to generate revenue on Facebook and Instagram.
Welcoming content producers at the event, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri said, “Creators are invaluable to Instagram in terms of pushing Instagram forward with their amazing content and encouraging people to be creative. I think the importance of content creators will increase as power continues to shift from institutions to individuals. So please enjoy our amazing programs, I can't wait to see what you do next.”
Creators of Tomorrow
The Creators of Tomorrow program aims to highlight local talents who have successfully turned their passions into a profession and inspired their audiences using Meta products. In doing so, Meta also wants to support content creators in adopting new technologies on their way to the metaverse.
Meta has launched the NFT sharing feature in many countries in the past months. Today, it is rolling out this feature in more countries in Europe. Content producers and collectors will be able to connect digital wallets to Instagram and share the NFTs they create or purchase on Instagram.
Meta also expands the types of NFTs that can be shared on Instagram. Video or animated NFTs can now be shared on Instagram. In addition, information about the collections created through OpenSea can be accessed on Instagram. Instagram will support Ethereum, Polygon, Flow and Solana blockchain systems, and Rainbow, MetaMask and Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Dapper and Phantom digital wallets.
Audience support for content creators
Meta offers new features for content creators to strengthen their ties with their communities and help them improve their business through their apps.
Subscription on Instagram
Meta will begin testing the Subscription feature on Instagram in the UK, Australia and Canada. Since the feature's launch in the US this year, names like Cole Sprouse (@colesprouse), Alan Chow (@alanchikinchow) and Skai Jackson (@skaijackson) have started using the Subscription feature.
