It looks like Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan has some ideas on it. Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, stated that he may negotiate with Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter, to avoid paying the $8 per month fee for the "verified" badge.

Erdogan indicated in an interview with Turkish television station ATV on Wednesday that he might talk about the charge with Musk.
Erdogan responded when asked about the new fee for the blue check, "It might be different for us."We could also use diplomacy with him,” he jokingly added.
In a recent survey, over 80% of Twitter users said they would not pay for the checkmark.10% of respondents indicated that they would pay $5 per month.
