Elon Musk's search for a new CEO started long time ago as it appears
Billionaire poised to "resign as CEO as soon as he finds someone stupid enough to take the job".
Elon Musk's resignation as Twitter CEO was one of the most talked about topics this week. However, according to CNBC's report, the search for an executive to replace Musk began long before this survey. The billionaire, who published a poll on his Twitter account on December 19, said, "Shall I resign from my Twitter post?" he asked his followers.

57.5 percent of the 17.5 million people who participated in the survey chose the "Yes" option. Posting a new tweet on this, Musk signaled that he accepted the survey result by writing, "Be careful what you wish for, because it may come true." The billionaire is currently preparing to "resign as CEO as soon as he finds someone stupid enough to take the job". On the other hand, it is not possible for Twitter polls to be binding. Also, according to experts, malicious bots or fake accounts can also participate in a Twitter survey.
As a matter of fact, sources speaking to CNBC's senior correspondent David Faber said that Musk's search for a new CEO is ongoing and actually started before the Twitter poll. Details on what criteria were adopted in the search for a CEO are not known. It was rumored that Musk had already taken over this role temporarily in October, when he became Twitter CEO. However, the confusion in Musk's other companies in recent days may have played a role in his decision to leave his Twitter CEO.
