Elon Musk reveals how Twitter suppressed Hunter Biden laptop story
Elon Musk disclosed how and why Twitter suppressed Hunter Biden's laptop story in 2020 via "Twitter Files".
Elon Musk has disclosed documents showing that the company's former management censored news about Biden's son Hunter Biden's laptop story at the request of US President Joe Biden's team before the 2020 presidential election.
Twitter's new boss Elon Musk exposed the censorship correspondence between the former administration of Twitter and the Democrats through a Twitter user named Matt Taibbi, known as a freelance journalist.

The correspondence, which Taibbi shared with the title "Twitter Files" and which included the messages between Twitter employees, was shared by Musk.
7. Slowly, over time, Twitter staff and executives began to find more and more uses for these tools. Outsiders began petitioning the company to manipulate speech as well: first a little, then more often, then constantly.

Taibbi, who mentioned that Biden's team forwarded many sharing links to the company to be removed during the 2020 presidential race, said in a screenshot sharing that one of the company employees sent an e-mail saying, "More to review from the Biden team."

"Twitter took extraordinary steps to suppress the story"
Reminding that the New York Post newspaper published the disclosure files obtained from the contents of Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden's laptop on October 14, 2020, Taibbi said, "Twitter took extraordinary steps to suppress the story, removing links and posting warnings that it may be ‘unsafe.’ They even blocked its transmission via direct message, a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g. child pornography."
"This led public policy executive Caroline Strom to send out a polite WTF query. Several employees noted that there was tension between the comms/policy teams, who had little/less control over moderation, and the safety/trust teams," Taibbi stated.
After Hunter Biden's laptop was given to a computer repair shop in his home state of Delaware in April 2019, the New York Post first broke the story about the emails. Thousands of emails between Hunter Biden and his business partners were stored on the laptop itself.
