Elon Musk ‘reaching out’ to Turkey on Twitter blockage imposed after earthquake
Elon Musk stated that he is "reaching out" to learn more about the blockage of Twitter in Turkey.
Elon Musk is seeking more information about Turkey's restriction of Twitter access. The government of Turkey claims that it requested the social media platform to take stronger measures against the spread of false information following the recent earthquakes that caused significant damage.
Elon Musk addressed to issue of Twitter blockage in Turkey
Mathias Føns, a Twitter user and Tesla investor has mentioned Elon Musk to make awareness about the Twitter blockage reportedly imposed by the Turkey after earthquakes hit southern Turkey.
Føns said "The Turkish government has restricted Twitter across the country. Currently, it is one of the most important media where communication with the earthquake zone is provided. There may still be people under the rubble who can deliver a call for help using Twitter." and he mentioned Elon Musk, Twitter CEO.
Musk has quickly responded to the Føns and stated that "We are reaching out to understand more."

Why is Twitter blocked by Turkish government amidst the earthquake disaster?
Netblock, through its network analysis, has confirmed that access to Twitter has been restricted by multiple internet service providers in Turkey as of February 8, 2023. After the devastating earthquakes on Monday, the government said it asked Twitter to do more to fight disinformation.
