CALIFORNIA, US - (TechtUSA) Twitter has locked its office doors and suspended badge access to company until next week after news that many employees will resign. Twitter told its employees that all of the company's office buildings will be temporarily closed. 

According to the news in the BBC, Twitter employees were told that the offices will be reopened on Monday, 21 November. The reason for this decision was not disclosed to the employees.

The announcement was made after following reports that many resigned after the new owner of the social media platform, Elon Musk who said to company employees to work "long hours or leave".

However, Twitter stated to his employees, "Please continue to comply with company policy by refraining from discussing company confidential information on social media, in the press, or elsewhere." Twitter has so far not responded to a request for comment from the BBC.

Before Musk took control of Twitter, the company had about 8,000 employees. The company also reported to have thousands of contract employees, most of whom have been laid off. Another person said they resigned despite being ready to take on the increased workload demanded by Musk.
