Apple executive Phil Schiller quits Twitter, raising questions over Musk's era on the platform
Apple executive Phil Schiller deactivated his Twitter account silently.
Twitter, which turned into a completely different platform after Elon Musk's acquisition, began to lose important accounts. Phil Schiller, Apple's event and App Store executive, has silently deactivated down his Twitter account. It's unclear what's going on between Apple and Twitter at the moment.
Phil Schiller has deactivated his Twitter account
According to sources, Phil Schiller's Twitter account is now deactivated. The account, which has more than 200 thousand followers, was publishing events and advertisements of Apple. Schiller was also tweeting about developments about the App Store. However, it is clear that Schiller has intentionally deactivated his Twitter account.
While I expect lots of leeway, there is a real scenario in which Apple/Google remove Twitter because of content moderation issues or because Twitter decides to bypass the 15%-30% cuts. Notably, we appear to now know how Apple’s App Store chief feels about the new Twitter. https://t.co/PCjOEsWA1L pic.twitter.com/LWjFCgxINA

The account was opened in November 2008 which was active for 14 years. The Apple executive prefers to remain silent on this matter. The reason Schiller quit Twitter might result from Elon Musk's attitude on the platform. Forcing Twitter employees to work in difficult conditions, Musk also announced a few days ago that the former President Trump Account will be opened.
Speaking about the new Twitter policy, Musk said, “Freedom of expression will be our top priority. However, our new policy does not cover freedom of access. We will not tolerate negative/hateful statements.”
