Xiaomi Smart Band 8 launched on global markets

Xiaomi has launched several new products at an event in Berlin, including the Xiaomi Smart Band 8. This fitness tracker, which initially debuted in China in April, is now available globally. Here's what you need to know about the Xiaomi Smart Band 8.

Similar to previous Xiaomi fitness trackers, the Smart Band 8 features a pill-shaped module with a 1.6-inch AMOLED display. The display boasts a 60Hz refresh rate, 600 nits peak brightness, Always On Display (AOD) mode, and a variety of watch faces.

One standout feature of the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is its versatility. It includes a pebble clip mode that allows users to attach the band to their shoelaces for more accurate tracking during running activities. Additionally, the Band 8 offers different size lugs to accommodate various types of straps, such as leather, woven leather, hollow bracelet, and TPU, giving users the flexibility to choose the style that suits them best.

In terms of health and fitness tracking, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is well-equipped. It includes a heart-rate monitor, SpO2 sensor, sleep tracker, and menstrual cycle monitor. It can also measure stress levels and VO2 Max, and it features a vitality metric that assesses your activity levels over 7 days and provides a score out of 100. With over 150 sports modes, it caters to a wide range of activities.

Beyond health tracking, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 offers built-in games like Sudoku and 2048, as well as convenient features such as notifications and weather updates. The device is claimed to have a battery life of up to 16 days on a single charge with AOD disabled and can be fully charged in approximately 60 minutes.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is priced at 40 Euros (approximately $43) and will be available for purchase in Europe.
