Google Pixel Watch update arrives
The Google Pixel Watch gains new features in its December update.
Google has initiated the rollout of its December Feature Drop updates for Pixel smartphones, touted as the most significant update yet with numerous enhancements. This monthly update also extends to Google’s first and second-generation smartwatches that operate on WearOS 4, aiming to improve the smartwatch experience through convenient features, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
Focusing on the Pixel Watch, the December update, identified as version TWD9.231205.001, introduces 'Do not Disturb' and 'Bedtime modes', features already present in the latest-generation smartwatches. This allows users to synchronize these modes between their Pixel phone and the first-generation Pixel Watch. The update also includes new watch faces and complications, enhancing the device's functionality and aesthetic appeal.

In addition to these features, the latest update addresses an image retention issue reported by some users on the Pixel Watch 2. The December security patch is also part of this update, covering both the first and second-generation models, including the LTE variants.
Another notable aspect of the December feature drop is the introduction of the Call Screen feature on Pixel Watches, although it is currently limited to users in the US region. This feature enables users to screen calls and respond with quick messages directly from their wrist. Furthermore, Pixel Watch users gain the convenience of unlocking their paired smartphone when it is in proximity.
The December Feature Drop update is being distributed to the Pixel Watch series in phases. Therefore, it may take a while to reach all devices. Users eager to update can attempt to initiate the process manually by navigating to Settings > System > System Updates on their device.
