Good news for Android-based smartwatch users!

Google, one of the most significant names in the smartwatch world, has announced good news for users with Wear OS operating systems.

Good news for Android-based smartwatch users!

In a move to enhance its primary services on the Wear OS platform, Google has expanded its support by introducing the Google Calendar app, following closely on the heels of Gmail Wear OS support. Now, users of Smart Watches operating on Wear OS 3.5 or later versions can avail themselves of the app, aptly named “Calendar.”

This announcement comes after a short-lived online appearance last November and ensures that crucial scheduling and event information is readily accessible on the wrists of users. In line with the phone user experience (UX), the Calendar App introduces a “Schedule” view, which allows users not only to open events but also to delve into details like notes and locations. Furthermore, users have the option to confirm their attendance at events and, additionally, the app provides the convenience of options like “Open on Phone” and “Delete event” at the user interface’s bottom.

Taking a step further into user-friendly functionality, background images for holiday events or birthdays are visible, provided images have been added. Alongside the event details, users will spot Google Tasks in their list, with an added capability to mark them as complete. Despite these advantages, it’s worth noting that adding new events or tasks using the Wear OS app is not possible for users.

In addition, the Calendar App unveils two new tiles offering a glimpse into “Next Events” and “Next Tasks,” ensuring users are always a step ahead in their planning and prioritization. Available for download from the Play Store, the app aligns with Google’s ongoing endeavors to extend supportive services on the Wear OS platform.
