Chinese smartwatch manufacturer Huami has earned big applause with its latest move
Huami, which has become a significant name in the smartwatch sector, officially introduced two new smartwatch models. However, what set the company apart was the statement it made.
Huami, also known by the name Zepp, has unveiled the latest version of the Amazfit T-Rex 2 smartwatch. To mark this year's World Ocean Day on June 8, the company has launched the Amazfit T-Rex 2 Ocean Blue Limited Edition. Emphasizing its commitment to environmental sustainability, Huami pledges to donate $10 from each watch sale to Coral Guardian. This non-profit organization undertakes coral ecological projects within marine protected areas in Indonesia.
Taking inspiration from the awe-inspiring feats of adventurers exploring the seven oceans, and a deep appreciation for nature's beauty, the design of the new edition is a true homage. The strap and packaging are made entirely from eco-friendly materials, designed to naturally degrade when disposed of.

Initially launched last year, the Amazfit T-Rex 2 boasts a vibrant 1.39-inch AMOLED display. The watch bezel incorporates a scratch-resistant metal spraying process, while the side of the watch body introduces an innovative anti-sediment bridge design. The watch is fitted with four large stainless steel buttons that have been sandblasted and etched. Further, the strap is made from an antibacterial silicone material.
The watch's hardware packs a punch with a 500mAh battery, promising a battery life of up to 24 days. It supports five global satellite positioning systems, namely Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS, and includes a new L5 frequency band to reduce ionospheric and ground multipath errors, thereby improving external environmental performance. The T-Rex 2 meets military standard certification, can operate at a chilling -30°C, and offers waterproof capabilities up to 100m. It supports over 150 sports modes.
