Your bank accounts might be in danger! Be aware of this AI
AI voice can be used to hack people's bank accounts. Here are the dangers of AI voice.
Banks' use of voice signature system may pose a problem in terms of account security. Thanks to the sound system of artificial intelligence, your bank accounts may be in danger. An artificial intelligence experiment undertaken by a US journalist has revealed the danger of voice copying algorithms to banking systems.
VICE reporter Joseph Cox copied his own voice using a free artificial intelligence application produced by tech firm ElevenLabs. Calling his bank later, Cox played the artificial intelligence-produced audio file on the answering machine. Thus, he managed to trick the voice signature application and gain access to their accounts.
The reporter said he "cannot believe" that such a simple experiment could bypass the security system: I have access to a number of account information, including my balances and recent transactions, and my list of money transfers"
"The abuse of artificial intelligence-generated voices can extend to fraud and hacking," said the reporter, continuing his words as follows: Some experts I spoke to after doing this experiment want banks to abandon the voice authentication system altogether.
