Webb Telescope takes thrilling pictures of clouds on Saturn's largest moon Titan
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope views the exciting clouds on Saturn's largest moon Titan.
The most advanced space telescope, James Webb(JWST) has managed to show us with many impressive images since it started scientific missions. The latest images from the Webb, allows us to take a closer look at many space formations. Turning its golden mirrors to Saturn's largest moon Titan, James Webb revealed the moon's thrilling clouds.
James Webb take images of the bizarre clouds of Titan
Titan is one of the most bizarre places with its structure. Reminding the Earth with its colors, Titan is very similar to Earth in terms of structure with its seas and atmosphere. However, Titan's seas and atmosphere are composed of methane and ethane instead of water, unlike those on Earth.
The first images taken by JWST of Titan, which is one of the moons that researchers are most curious about with all these features, were shared. The images were captured by the Webb's primary imaging device NIRCam, which can detect infrared light.
The images taken by JWST also revealed two clouds in the satellite's northern hemisphere. This is the first time these clouds have been revealed so clearly, although their existence had previously only been predicted.
JWST's another imaging instrument, MIRI is expected to deliver the first data on the Titan by mid-2023. Receives imaging at different wavelengths, MIRI can provide scientists with much different information about Titan and its atmosphere to reveal them to the public.
