Reuters, citing internal Twitter research, reported that Twitter is having trouble keeping the attention of its most active users. According to the report, Twitter's "major tweeters" have been using the platform less frequently since the COVID pandemic began.
These active users who account for %10 of the platform's monthly users and tweet at least three to four times per week and log in to Twitter at least six days per week, constitutes %90 of all tweets and half of the Twitter's global revenue, according to Reuters.
Now, these "major tweeters" do not show up frequently on the platform much anymore according to reports. This decline is reportedly accelerating after the events of Elon Musk between Twitter. Musk's strange statements and the new provisions he will implement on the Twitter may have caused users to take a dislike to the social media platform.
A spokesperson of Twitter told Reuters, though the company did not directly respond to a request for comment: "In the second quarter of 2022, our total audience will have reached 238 million mDAU(monetizable daily active users)."
