Turkey-centered earthquake hit Syria: 245 dead
A huge earthquake that happened in Turkey was also felt in Syria as well.
Turkey has been shocked with a huge earthquake that happened around 04:17 in the morning. Earthquake that left many injured and 280 dead was also felt in other countries as well. The 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 04:17 in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş was also felt in Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, the TRNC, the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA) and Iraq.
Ahmed Damiriyye, a senior official from the Syrian Ministry of Health, told state television SANA that 639 people were injured and 237 people died in the regions of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama and Tartus.

Search and rescue teams are trying to reach the families under the rubble. "This is the biggest earthquake recorded in the history of the center, which was established in 1995," said Rayid Ahmed, head of the Syrian National Earthquake Centre.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that there was no serious damage to its military facilities in Syria. During the civil war, a large number of Russian soldiers were sent to the country to support the Bashar Assad administration.
