The aid fund was created by the order of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Meryem Aurangzeb, in a statement on Twitter after the Council of Ministers meeting, said, "Prime Minister Sharif has decided to establish a 'Prime Ministerial Assistance Fund' to help earthquake victims in Turkey at this difficult time."
Accordingly, one month's salaries of all members of the Council of Ministers and one day's salaries of all state employees will be donated to the relief fund. Recalling that Turkey took the lead in helping his country during the flood disaster in 2022, Prime Minister Sharif made a statement saying, "The Pakistani nation will not leave their Turkish brothers alone in this difficult time."
