Italy is a great vacation place but if you are planning to step your food on this beach, it might cause you some money. Travelers hoping to set foot on the inviting pink sands off the coast of Italy's Sardinia are warned that they will face a fine if they do.
Italy's pink beach is under protection
The Italian coast guard is taking extra steps this year to protect Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach). Visitors will face fines ranging from 500 euros to 3 thousand 500 euros if they set a food there. Summer is basically here, although because of global warming it is kind of hard to enjoy beaches early in June, people are planning their vacations for the summer and Italy still stands out as a hot place.
Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, this colorful beach is located on Budelli Island, which is part of the Maddalena archipelago. The sand gets its bright color from the shells of micro-organisms that live in shallow waters and are crushed by currents and mixed with the sand. It is forbidden for people to set foot on the beach, but the beach can be seen from the sea on boat tours.
