A huge earthquake has happened in Turkey and affected Syria as well. The earthquake left many dead and injured.
The 7.7 Mw earthquake that occurred at 04:17 on Monday in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş, Turkey and the effects of the following tremors are still felt warmly in Syria. The earthquake left more than 3000 people dead and many injured. Turkey has declared 4th level alarm.
The United Nations suspended its aid to the opposition-controlled areas in northwest Syria via Turkey. UN Humanitarian Aid Coordination Office Spokesperson Madevi Sun-Suon reminded that the roads were damaged and emphasized that there were problems in logistics. He stated that they could not say anything clear about when they could resume sending aid. Even before the earthquake in this region, more than 4 million people were in need of help.

Stating that they need international assistance in their rescue efforts in the areas under the control of the opposition in northwest Syria, said: Every second counts to save lives.
