It has been learned that the two astronauts will fly to the ISS in the spring as part of the space mission organized by the private space company Axiom Space.
In the meantime, one of the Dragon capsules produced by Elon Musk's space firm SpaceX will carry the astronauts. Dragon capsules had previously undertaken the task of transporting many astronauts to the station. In addition to two Saudi astronauts, the spacecraft will be accompanied by former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, who will make her fourth flight to the UU, and US businessman John Shoffner.
Its crew will launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on a Falcon 9 rocket, also owned by SpaceX. The French news agency AFP reported on the subject that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was pushing for reforms and trying to break the "solid image" of the kingdom.
