Oppo claims it's the second-best after GPT-4
The Chinese tech giant Oppo believes its AI model surpasses all competitors in knowledge and encyclopedia features, except one.
In the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI), Chinese tech giants are making their mark. Recently, Baidu introduced its advanced medical AI model, while its AI chatbot, Ernie, has captured significant public interest. Not far behind, smartphone manufacturer Oppo has ventured into the AI chatbot domain and is displaying commendable progress. Oppo revealed that its AI model, AndesGPT, stands only behind OpenAI's GPT-4 in knowledge and encyclopedia competencies.
Oppo's AI endeavor, the Xiaobu Assistant, utilizes the AndesGPT model, which made its notable appearance in the SuperCLUE evaluation benchmark's September rankings. AndesGPT, a generative large language model, operates similarly to the likes of ChatGPT and Bard. Oppo initiated external testing for AndesGPT in early August. In collaboration with its intelligent assistant, Xiaobu, the primary objective was to offer a transformative upgrade to conventional voice assistants. On the SuperCLUE Top Ten Basic Ability Rankings, AndesGPT scored an impressive 98.33 in the "knowledge and encyclopedia" assessment, positioning it second only to GPT-4 and solidifying its leading stance in China.

Recently, Oppo highlighted significant improvements in the knowledge and encyclopedic capabilities of its AndesGPT model. These enhancements result from integrating high-quality knowledge graphs, a substantial collection of QA pairs, and fine-tuning its pre-training techniques. Moreover, Oppo has announced forthcoming plans to introduce an expansive campaign to showcase its Xiaobu Assistant. This advanced assistant, rooted in the AndesGPT language model's foundation, promises to deliver content tailored to user requirements. Additionally, it aims to bolster its AI competencies in content summarization and synthesis.
