The Orion spacecraft has made its closest pass over the Moon's surface and is now on its way home to Earth. Launched into space with a Space Launch System (SLS) rocket on November 16 as part of the Artemis 1 mission, Orion captured astonishing views of the moon.
Sharing this image on its official account, NASA said, "You can see Earth in the distance. That's us" Sent to orbit the Moon and return, Orion's voyage was broadcast live for three hours.
"Let us hope that this milestone will inspire us to transcend 'all possible manner of differences,' as the great Du Bois once put it, and keep foremost in mind all that we have in common as human beings; as sisters and brothers here on Earth."

According to the BBC's report, Orion rocketed over the Moon on Monday. This was the last major powered maneuver for the next-generation crew ship, which has so far been a highly successful flight. The spacecraft is expected to land in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, December 11.
The next mission, Artemis-2, will be conducted with astronauts. Moreover, in Artemis 3 mission, humans will re-land on the moon's surface years later. Thus, humanity will arrive in the Moon again. Until this moment, we will have to wait patiently for this milestone.
