NASA is searching for private sector help to boost Hubble Space Telescope
NASA looks to re-boost the orbit of Hubble Space Telescope.
NASA is trying to get more benefit from the Hubble Space Telescope by correcting the orbit of the telescope. The space agency stated that it wants to hear the offers of private companies to extend the telescope's mission.
NASA is trying to find ideas on how to boost Hubble Telescope
Since its launch in 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope has been in use for more than 30 years. The venerable telescope continues to produce beautiful space images and useful scientific data, but it will not last forever because its orbit will eventually degrade, resulting in the telescope breaking up in the atmosphere of Earth.
However, Hubble could continue to operate for a longer period of time if its orbit were raised, a complicated but practicable procedure that NASA is currently considering. If NASA succeeds in its aim, we will able to see stunning pictures from space taken by NASA.
The telescope, which would serve as a demonstration of how to carry out operations of a similar nature on satellites, is up for grabs, and NASA is asking private businesses to submit suggestions for expanding it.
NASA will continue to investigate options for Hubble's future until January 24, 2023 request for information will be open. You can read the official RFI that NASA shared here.
