NASA announces scientific team members to hunt UFOs
Following the recent increase in UFO sightings, NASA announced the members of its scientific team that will study UFOs. Let's check out the details.
NASA is taking action in response to the recent increase in unidentified aerial phenomena or objects. Having received financial supports from the US Senate, NASA will start to investigate government reports of unidentified aerial phenomena. The agency has created an expert team of 16 people to study the the reports concerning UAPs.
NASA will begin to study UAPs on October 24
The space agency announced in June that they conducted a panel to study UFOs, or "unidentified aerial phenomena" (UAPs) as they were renamed. Now, NASA announced the 16 members of this study team.
The members of scientific team for the study of UAPs (UFOs) include experts in aerospace safety, artificial intelligence science and more. The team will led by astrophysicist David Spergel. Moreover, Scott Kelly, former NASA astronaut will be in the team. Space agency also stated that this study will begin on October 24. The report of the scientific team's findings will be released with the public in mid-2023.
"Exploring the unknown in space and the atmosphere is at the heart of who we are at NASA," Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA headquarters, said in his statement.
"Understanding the data we have surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena is critical to helping us draw scientific conclusions about what is happening in our skies. Data is the language of scientists and makes the unexplainable, explainable."
