The incident occurred on November 4 in Baotou, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.Miao, the owner of the animals, whose surname has only been revealed, said that at first a few sheep began to return, and then the whole flock joined. State-run newspaper People's Daily noted that the sheep are healthy and the reason for the behavior is unknown.
It is known that Listeria disease, which is caused by consuming foods contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, causes animals to circle. Veterinarians say that spoiled feed is associated with this disease. Inflammation in the brain due to the disease causes the behavior of turning in a circle. Sick animals can also suffer a stroke.
